They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

Heather Gardner received her Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music where she studied violin, viola and voice. She earned her Masters of Music from Rutgers University in voice performance and she is also an AmSAT certified Alexander Technique teacher and teacher of the Suzuki Method.  Heather has extensive orchestral and choral, chamber and solo experience as a professional musician, and is comfortable in a variety of genres and historical periods. All types of people and musics are welcome in her studio and parents are encouraged to come and participate as well!

Phenon Murphy is a teaching artist in Philadelphia who graduated from The University Of The Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, where she studied theater, music, and music production. Working as an assistant teacher in the Early Childhood program at Germantown Friends School, Phenon has extensive experience with young children. When she’s not teaching, she writes and performs her own music, plays guitar, and spends as much time outside as possible. Phenon’s queer identity informs her art as well as her teaching. She is dedicated to creating a warm and safe class that celebrates difference and allows for experimentation, boldness, and fun!
